Communications Strategist + Social Media Manager
Mel’s love of strong communication and storytelling can be traced back to the third grade, where she had her classmates riveted with a dramatic reading of a story she wrote (about a laughing hyena that had lost its laugh). She got a taste of what happens when you combine a compelling story, a captive audience, and a bit of moxie.
Over her 15-year career, she’s held a variety of director-level and strategist roles at a wide range of companies — small non-profits and family businesses to large B2B tech and manufacturing organizations. Through these roles, she’s honed her skills in all things marketing and communications — brand messaging, corporate storytelling, PR and media relations, social media, and content strategy.
Mel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in English (emphasis on Creative Writing) and Communications Arts (emphasis on Radio, Television, and Film Production).
